Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100

In celebration of the centenary of the Surrealist movement, Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100, tells the story of Surrealist art, spotlighting the makers who sought out new expressive forms to expand the reach of the creative imagination.

On view from November 8, 2025, to February 16, 2026, the Philadelphia Art Museum is the final stop in an ambitious tour organized with the Centre Pompidou in Paris — and the sole venue for this exhibition in the United States.

Noah Davis

Noah Davis began with a humble aspiration: 'to represent the people around me'. Born in Seattle in 1983, he made LA his chosen home, where he worked to capture the intricacies of contemporary Black life with tenderness and depth. Beloved as a painter, this major retrospective presents other aspects of his practice too – from collecting photography from flea markets to making collages, websites, sculpture and eventually his own museum.

The exhibition is making its final stop at The Philadelphia Art Museum on an international tour organized with DAS MINSK in Potsdam, the Barbican in London, and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
